How much does a business video (bedrijfsvideo) cost in the Netherlands?
A bedrijfsvideo in the Netherlands is commonly quoted from around €1,000 at the lower end for a basic package, rising past €10,000 for larger productions with more filming days, scripting and extras. Package pricing is more common than day rates for small businesses in this market, so check carefully exactly what's bundled into the figure before you compare two quotes side by side.
Package pricing versus day rates
Dutch video producers, more than in some other markets, tend to sell fixed packages rather than quoting a day rate and letting you work out the total yourself. That's genuinely helpful if you're comparing suppliers, because it forces each one to state what's included rather than leaving you to estimate hours.
A basic bedrijfsfilm package at the lower end of the range typically covers one location, a half or full day of filming, a short planning call, and one edited film in one format. Move up the price ladder and you start adding a second location, a proper script, and both a widescreen version for your website and a vertical cut for social media.
Freelance solo operators and small studios sit closer together on price in the Netherlands than in some larger markets, so the freelancer-versus-agency gap matters less here than what's actually bundled into the package you're choosing between.
What pushes a Dutch quote above €1,000
Once you're past the basic package, these are the additions that most often account for the rest of a €5,000-plus quote, roughly in order of how much they typically add:
- A written script, developed with you rather than improvised on the day.
- Professional voice-over, in Dutch or English, which is billed separately from filming.
- Subtitles in Dutch and English, useful if your customers or candidates include international readers.
- Drone footage of your premises or location, subject to the flight rules in that area.
- Multiple filming days, for a business with several locations or a longer story to tell.
Getting more from one shoot
The most cost-effective bedrijfsvideo briefs plan for more than one output from a single filming day. If you're already paying for a crew or a solo operator to be on site, ask what else can be captured in the same session: a shorter vertical cut for Instagram or LinkedIn, a handful of still photos, or a second, shorter edit aimed at recruitment rather than sales.
This is usually a small addition to the day rate rather than a second full project, because the planning and travel are already covered. It's worth raising before the shoot, not after, since some setups (lighting, framing) differ slightly between a widescreen film and a vertical one, and a producer who knows in advance can plan the day around getting both.
This matters most for smaller Dutch businesses, where the budget for a second, separate shoot later in the year rarely exists. Planning everything you'll need for the next twelve months into one visit, rather than commissioning pieces one at a time as the need comes up, tends to work out considerably cheaper overall and saves you repeating the planning conversation each time.
Comparing quotes like for like
Two Dutch quotes for the same brief can differ by thousands of euros for reasons that have nothing to do with quality. Before you decide, check each quote states: the number of filming days, whether editing and colour grading are included or billed separately, how many rounds of changes you get, and whether the vertical social cut is part of the package or an extra.
My own pricing is fixed rather than a day rate: a promo film from €790, a reel filmed and edited from €120, and a pack of four reels from one shoot at €380. Those figures give Dutch businesses a concrete benchmark to hold a local quote against, even from a producer working across borders rather than based in the Netherlands itself.
When a bigger budget is worth it
A basic package is the right call for a straightforward introduction or a single product video. A bigger budget starts to earn its keep once you need a genuine concept, actors or presenters, animated graphics, or filming across several locations in one story, all of which take real planning time that a basic package doesn't include. If you're unsure which end of the range your brief sits at, describe the finished video you want, roughly what it's for and where it'll be shown, and ask for a fixed quote rather than guessing from a price list on its own. Full details of what's included at each level are on my prices page, and I've covered the equivalent German market in Imagefilm cost in Germany.
Questions people also ask
Is a bedrijfsvideo the same as a bedrijfsfilm?
Yes, the terms are used interchangeably in the Netherlands for a general company video, usually covering an introduction to the business, the team and what it does. Pricing and scope work the same way whichever term is used.
Should I get quotes in Dutch or is English fine?
Either is fine when getting quotes, but say early on which language the finished video needs to be in, since scripting, voice-over and subtitles all depend on it and can affect the price.
How many filming days does a typical bedrijfsvideo need?
Most small business bedrijfsvideos need one day, sometimes half a day for a single-location brief. Multiple locations, several interviews, or a longer story usually push it to two days.
Can I add reels or social clips to a bedrijfsvideo shoot?
Usually yes, and it's more cost-effective than filming them separately later, since the crew and location are already covered. Ask for this when you request your quote so it can be planned into the filming day.
